Hair envy: bangs, bangs, bangs

I will most probably live and die in my full fringe. No other hairstyle seems to suit me, or appeal to me in the way a full fringe does. Most popular in the 1960's, bangs were a must have when it came to A-list style in the decade. Here are a few famous faces showing us just how good the full fringe can look!

Parisian Vintage

Having just come back from Paris, I can't help but be inspired by everything Parisian! Paris is one of my favourite places in the world, it's the city of love. Lovers of culture, lovers of history and lovers of love. Vintage photographs of Paris are so perfect, and I don't just mean the fashion. The architecture of Paris shows sophistication that will enchant the least romantic person.

Allie: The Notebook - Style Inspiration

Possibly my most favourite film when it comes to the fashion worn! The character of Allie's wardrobe is so perfect I want to buy every single item of clothing that she owns. Set in the 1940's, the first half of the film is very young, colourful and bright when it comes to Allie's outfits. With cute mini dresses, bright whimsical playsuits and vibrant cosy cardigans!

(The above is my favourite outfit of hers, if anyone comes across something similar please do not hesitate to show me...)

The second half of the film, 7 years after Allie & Noah separate, Allie's outfits are more mature and sophisticated. Still coated in bright colours, the hemlines are now longer and the blazers and hats have surfaced!

Style Muse: Jean Shrimpton

My absolute second favourite style icon (a few milliseconds behind Pattie Boyd.) I have fallen head over heels in love with Jean Shrimpton's style, her story, her clothing and her beauty! She is known as the first 'IT' girl of the 1960's, and considered to be one of the world's first supermodels. She was introduced into the fashion business by her ex partner photographer David Bailey.

Jean Shrimpton

Jean Shrimpton represented the high end of the British Style that was popular in the 1960's. Her style was very classic, with a tint of mod. Her key looks were short shift dresses and cutesy pumps and Jean was the leading trendsetter when it came to the inspirational 60's bangs that are still popular to this day!

David Bailey met Jean on set of a cornflakes advertisement, he was quoted saying 'She was my total muse, I didn't want to look at another model.' The couple became a focal point of London fashion in the early 1960's.

Even with a plain dress and no shoes, you'd still want to look like her!
