Summer summer summertime

Just a daily dose of summery pictures to brighten up this dark and dreary Wednesday.

Mary Quant

If I was alive in the 60's I would of definitely had a wardrobe full of Mary Quant clothing, her clothes are fantastic! Bold shift dresses are such a weakness for me. Here's a few photos I've come across of Mary Quant clothing and the models sporting them...

Even my two style icons were a popular face of Mary Quant!

Oh, Audrey.

Audrey Hepburn (1929 - 1993) was a British actress and humanitarian. Most loved for her roles in Breakfast at Tiffany's and My Fair Lady. Audrey was one major highlight of Hollywood's Golden Age and hugely recognised as a film and fashion icon in the late 50's early 60's, and by looking at her I can see why!

How cute is this jumpsuit?! Would be absolutely perfect for the summer!

Her role in Breakfast at Tiffany's as Holly Golightly is my absolute favourite!

Audrey Hepburn's style is classic. Timeless pieces that have been worn throughout the generations. To achieve her flawless style look no further!

1. Black is your best friend
The LBD became fashions most important piece after Audrey stepped out into Hollywood Cinema wearing a long black dress by Givenchy and becoming Holly Golightly in 1961.

2. Casual 'ize' your wardrobe
Audrey's signature outfit was the simple yet memorising combination of black capri trousers, polo neck top and flat pumps. Perfect for an average day out or even lazing about the house.

3. The fuller the better
Or, if black isn't really your best colour, you could bring out the royal in you. Audrey's outfit in Roman Holiday is my favourite style of hers. All you need to achieve this is a simple white shirt (for the full on Audrey look, tie it at the waist) a full 1950's circle skirt and either pumps or sandals (I prefer pumps.) This look is more of a summer outfit and will be perfect for when the sun is shining.

So many prints

When you think of the 1960's iconic fashion statements, one I think of is geometric prints! Big, bold, bright patterns that grabs anyone's attention. Here are a few photos of this daring style that I have gathered this week.
