Friday's vintage finds

Happy Friday! The weekends here, and what a fun filled weekend ahead of us all in Portsmouth! Victorious Festival is upon us, for those of you who are a bit confused right now, Victorious is a music festival that happens on this little city and this year it is located on the sunny scene of Southsea. It's a 2 day festival, with artists like Ocean Colour Scene, Seasick Steve etc. However, I will only be attending the festival on the Sunday, as my weekend begins on another sandy beach, Brighton! For the Mod scooter rally with a selection of artists playing along the sea front along the likes of my boyfriend George and a local band 'The Fliks' a 60's girl tribute band. A blog post will be coming soon!

Anyway, here comes the second dose of my weekly feature 'Friday's vintage finds' where I fill you up with all the vintage loveliness I can't get enough of this week. So sit back, enjoy and let's go back in time...

Photographs of the week:

Fun in the sun on a road trip sounds great right? Especially with the sun shining. What a fun spirited photo!

How romantic! I love cute photographs like this, so adorable.

Another soppy photograph (I apologise) but this photo is lovely! Just looks like they can't keep their hands off each other that not even a crowd of people will stop them.

Betty Grable, an American actress and dancer active in the 1930/40's. Also, my biggest crush when it comes to a pair of legs, don't you want her legs!

Songs of the week:
Give them a listen!
One fine day - The Chiffons
My guilty pleasure song when it comes to dancing around my room pretending I'm from the 50's with my hairbrush in my hand.

Time of the season - The Zombies
Such a great song! Cannot believe how many good songs The Zombies have, give their album a listen if you like the sound of them!

Films of the week:
Charade (1963)

photo: movieposterstudio.com
A romantic comedy/ mystery thriller starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, it is about a male named Peter who meets Reggie and offers to help her after she finds out her husband has been murdered. She later finds out her late husband helped steal 250, 000 dollars, which leads her to being harassed by a gang who are also after the money. I found the film an enjoyable watch, and besides who doesn't enjoy a good Audrey Hepburn film!

Vintage news of the week:
Happy birthday Coco Chanel!
The incredible french fashion designer was born August 19th, 1883, that's way over 100 years ago! Yet she is still a trendsetter and leader in fashion today. What an inspiration she really is!
