Festival season inspiration

It's June, so that means one thing, the festival season is upon us and number 1 on the checklist is festival gear. Boho is all the range this season and what better decade to copy then the psychedelic 60's/70's with all the hippy and flower power fashion. Vintage style is a must have this year so let's inspire ourselves with some of those fashionable hippies back in the "groovy" time. 

MUST HAVES.
Barefoot, bellbottoms, long hair for the men.
Headbands, tasselled accessories, paisley print for the woman.

Annie Hall

Annie Hall, 1977 is an American romantic comedy starring Woody Allen & Diane Keaton. It revolves around the main protagonist Alvy Singer trying to figure out the reasons why his previous relationship ended. I have to confess, last night was the first time I have ever watched this film, and boy, have I been missing out! I love quirky, unusual films and this is a great example of that. Woody Allen is also a great actor and this film made me love him even more! 

The scenery of this film is so cute, especially the backdrop of this particular scene!

Normally, I wouldn't tend to go for outfits that are quite boyish and flared, but Diane Keaton pulls it off perfectly in this film that I've been quite tempted to go treat myself to a cute little jumpsuit like hers in the photo above. Very 70's! Although the fashion is all very casual and easy going, it compliments the films themes and style.

Annie Hall won oscars in Best Director (Woody Allen), Best Actress (Diane Keaton), and Best Original Screenplay, along with Best Picture Academy Award! So give it a watch, it's a nice easy film to put on if you're feeling under the weather (looking at the weather in the UK at the moment, I can see why.)

Cute as a button

How adorable is this photograph? Both of these dresses are the definition of cute. I especially love the white dress, the structure of the dress is so flattering and the ruffles on the shoulders adds that little bit of feminine detail that every dress needs. The photograph is from the 1970's. A dress like this is a definite must on my 'summer wish list.'
